Найти определение ИТ-инфраструктуры, а главное, чтобы это определение как-то отличалось от определения ЦОДа достаточно трудно. В рамках статьи мы разделим ее на физическую инфраструктуру и программное обеспечение. Под физической инфраструктурой будем понимать аппаратные средства, чаще называемые «железом». Это серверное оборудование различного типа и уровня от мелкого одноюнитового сервера до целых мейнфреймов. Это и устройства хранения – дисковые от сотен гигабайт до десятков терабайт, и ленточные системы резервного копирования. Устройства хранения все чаще перестают быть отдельными устройствами, а представляются в виде систем и сетей хранения (технологии SAN, NAS и т.д.). А чтобы все это работало вместе да еще и общалось с внешним миром применяется телекоммуникационное оборудование: коммутаторы, маршрутизаторы, телефонные станции.
